UPSC exam pattern and syllabus

The most popular exam in India is the Civil Services Exam (CSE), which is conducted by Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) every year. The second phase is the Mains exam and the Personal Interview. Candidates who qualify the first round of the UPSC CSE get to the second round. The Mains and the Personal Interview is merit round, the marks scored here decides the ranking of the candidates. The Mains exam has a subjective or descriptive question pattern. Total marks 1750. The question asked in the Mains exam is descriptive. And following the Mains exam is Personal Interview is 275. The panel judges the mental alertness and capabilities of the candidate.

 

The syllabus of the UPSC CSE is vast and wide. The subjects included in the UPSC exam are Indian Polity, History, General Science, English, Hindi, Geography, Mathematics, and Current affairs.
