II. HOTS

The Phrase no time has been repeated in the poem. Why has it been repeated?

Ans: The phrase no time has been repeated in the poem to emphasize the situation of lack of time in our lives. He wants us to realize that we have become so obsessed with work and other tasks that we have stopped taking out time for ourselves.

We are busy in our daily life schedule, are lost in our worries most of the time. We rarely take out time for ourselves to look and praise the beauty of nature and other things around us. The poet wants that we should try to give some leisure time to ourselves and enjoy the gifts of nature present in our surroundings

III. Life skills

Why do people in cities normally face shortage of time. Is all the work they are busy doing productive?  Discuss with your partner.

You can discuss the question with your partner else you can refer to the answer to this question shared below

People in cities have a shortage of time because they have long working hours. If they work in an MNC or so they are made to work more. Though they have work pressure not everything they do is productive.

If we talk about today’s scenario of cities, a lot of teenagers and even young adults can be seen spending most of their time in mobile phones. Mobile phones have become an addiction for such people.

A lot of people have developed a habit of overthinking in their free time. They spend most of the time thinking about their goals, dreaming about their future. They wish to improve their future but don’t pay attention to their present time.

IV. Values

A. Point out the beauties of nature that can be a source of pleasure for man in his day-to-day life.

Ans. Nature has given many sources of pleasure for humans. Man can enjoy the beautiful morning if he wakes up early. He can sit in the park and breathe in the fresh air, watch the birds chirping in the early morning, can stare at the boughs.

If he lives in a mountain region then he can enjoy the morning view of the mountain, the early sunrise view which will give great inner joy to him. He can sit by the riverside and put his legs in a running stream. Doing this will take away all his stress.

If he lives in a city, he can watch the night sky and see how stars twinkle in the night. He can also observe the river stream, the stars in the stream (in daylight when the sunlight falls on the river surface, the stream shines as if there are stars in the river).

B.Whenever the poet sees the streams in broad daylight, he is reminded of the skies at night. Explain why.

Ans. Whenever the poet sees the streams in broad daylight he is reminded of the skies at night because when the sunlight falls on the river surface, the light shines in the water. When someone sees, it seems as if there are stars in the rivers. That’s why the poet has used that phrase.
How do you feel when you see:-
1. squirrels dancing and running
Whenever I see squirrels dancing and running I feel as if they are playing with each other and enjoying like a small happy kid does.
2. ants moving in a line
Whenever I see ants moving in a line I feel that how disciplined these ants are! Humans should learn discipline from them.
3.the sky full of stars
Whenever I see the sky full of stars I feel happy looking at them. The view is so peaceful and mesmerizing. I sometimes wish to see the stars more clearly by using a telescope.
4. birds flying in the sky
A group of birds flying from one destination to another always move in a pattern and they are so aligned that sometimes I feel how can they be so disciplined.
When you see it you will notice that they are so accurate in the pattern and the pattern remains unchanged throughout their journey.

The view is so beautiful and peace-giving.

Dear Rahul
Hello, how are you? Hope this letter of mine finds you in the pink of your health. How are uncle and aunty? Riya was missing the last holidays that we spent together. If possible why d0don’t you plan another vacation at our home.
Do you know I went to Jim Corbett national park last summer? It was such a wonderful experience. I got to see different species of birds and animals. I had never seen animals so closely prior to this. I went there with my society friends. We are accompanied by two national park guards. Our group was taken in a forest jeep. One by one we got to see all the animals and birds.
I saw a bird that had 5 colours on its body and a beautiful voice. You will never see any of such bird in the cities. I also got to see some rare species of birds, and also some endangered bird species.
Then, we marched further and saw a group of tigers. They were roaming here and there. We were asked to be silent. We also saw a group of elephants. It appeared as if they were playing with each other. Some animals were sad too, and it made me feel sad for them.
Overall the experience was totally new and it was so peaceful to see all these animals in one place. I felt happy from within. I advise that you should visit Jim Corbett National Park with your family members or friends. In fact, we both can visit the place together.
Ok, I am getting late for my class. Have a nice day ahead! Hope to see you in person soon.
Yours lovingly
Vinay
