II. HOTS

Yesterday is dead, tomorrow is unborn but today is a gift. That’s why it is called a ‘present’. How can one make one’s present a worthy gift?

Ans. Yesterday is dead. It means that it has gone and the past will never return back at all. It is useless to cry over the past or to repent over things you could do in the past. But yes, you have one thing that can be under your control: THE PRESENT.

Tomorrow is unborn means it is yet to arrive.

So, one should live in the present. We can make our present better by doing all the good deeds and priority tasks today itself. Waiting for tomorrow will be a foolish task if you can do so much in the present.

All the successful people focus on their present. They work hard in their present to make their future better. So, we should develop a habit of making a schedule of tasks that have to be done for a day and should try to finish them the same day.

If you are a student you should make a timetable and stick it to your study table. Make a goal to do those tasks at any cost. If you are ready to do this you will notice a lot of improvement and success will be on your feet.

III. Life skills

He should start meditating. It will help him to improve his brain power. He should also take out time for playing with his friends. This will make him active and kill his laziness.

IV. Values

What according to you is the best way of spending time out of the given options. Give reasons for your choice.

Ans. The best way of spending time out of these options may vary from person to person. I believe all the given tasks are noble but as I am a teacher so I will like to spend time teaching someone. Teaching is one of my passions.

Dear Raman

Hope you are doing good! Everyone misses you at home. The home seems empty without you. I hope you are taking care of your health too. I got to know that you are not able to study in an organized manner.

Raman, it is very important to maintain a balance between things in life. As you are a student right now you should pay most of your attention to your studies. You should make a proper timetable and try to study accordingly. You should set a time and day for each subject. And yes, it never means that you stop playing. All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. You have to be physically active.

Play a game of your choice with your hostel friends but also take care of time. In short, you have to maintain a balance between your studies and playing. Both are important. When you play a sport your mind will become more active and you will be able to learn more things in less time.

Well, I believe you will listen to what I have explained. This is for your own good. I want to see you excelling in your studies as well as in sports. Good luck for your coming exams. Stay away from any kind of stress. Lots of love!

Yours lovingly

Deepak Kumar
